Kingwood

Kingwood, the “Livable Forest” is located in the northeast portion of Harris County and the southeast portion of Montgomery County approximately 23 miles north of downtown Houston.

It is heavily wooded acreage is canopied with tall pines and magnolias, along with many other types of shade trees. It’s citizens pride themselves in being known as a community that exists in harmony with nature. The 500+ acres of private nature preserves and parks are host to a variety of wildlife including deer, fish, birds and more. Great for exercising, walking and bicycling, Kingwood has over 75 miles of “hike and bike trails”
along lush greenbelts. Big name retail, shopping, and dining venues call Kingwood home, and can be found throughout the general area. In addition, the community is only three miles North of Deerbrook Mall and the city of Humble.

With over 100 different clubs and organizations and a myriad of parks, including a skate park and a dog park, there’s always something fun and entertaining to do in the area. Plus, the two private clubs–Deerwood Club and the Kingwood Country Club provide challenging and beautiful golf courses for members’ enjoyment. Kingwood students (K-12) attend Humble Independent School District (Harris County) or New Caney Independent School District (Montgomery County) depending on which part of the community they reside. There also numerous private schools available. In addition, it boasts a two year community college, Lone Star College-Kingwood that serves the area and is part of the Lone Star College System.
