After she earned her BBA in Accounting at Texas Tech University, Melesa became an accountant for Tenneco Oil & Gas, the Harris County Hospital District and Aetna. Later on, she worked as the general contractor in multiple home remodels and managed home construction.

When she’s not working, Melesa continues her dedication to her community. She serves on the Executive Board of Lighthouse for Students Charity, is the director of High School Seniors and Events, and a committee member of Budget & Finance at CFBC, the Community Care Center, and a Student Outreach Organization.
